Highly Commended at Torque Expo Awards
The Torque Expo Awards took place on Tuesday 14th May at the Telford International Centre, and we were pleased to walk away with a number of highly Commended accolades.
Highly Commended for Connected
We are pleased to have scooped Highly Commended in the Employee Engagement Initiative of the Year category at the Torque Awards.
In November 2023, Owlett-Jaton launched Connected, an employee engagement platform. Connected aims to deliver financial support to improve employee day-to-day lives.
Connected saves employees money by extending disposable income through significant savings on 900+ top retailers and offering cashback. It helps to reduce everyday expenses through discounts, benefits, financial resources, wellbeing solutions and more.
In addition, Connected serves as an intranet for Owlett-Jaton, allowing internal communications to be posted to a blog. New starters, long service awards, events and company updates are all shared via Connected, which is accessed via desktop or mobile app.
Highly Commended for JRP
We are pleased to have been awarded Highly Commended in the Product Innovation > Tools category at the Torque Awards for the Jaton Riveting Products (JRP) range of lightweight battery-powered tooling for setting rivets and rivet nuts.
The ergonomic tool and battery design result in a fantastic weight-saving combination. The four battery tools are not only the lightest rivet gun tooling but also some of the most compact power-to-weight ratio tools introduced to the marketplace. JRP’s most popular rivet gun, the RB65, weighs 33% less than its competitor equivalent. The NB80A is a substantial 37% lighter than its like-for-like equivalent.
The tools feature Brushless Technology motors to offer increased reliability, high power-to-weight ratio, nearly instantaneous control of high speed and torque, high efficiency, and low maintenance.
The design allows operators an extremely well-balanced, safe, fast, and reliable tool for continual use in manufacturing processes.
Fast and reliable, the JRP battery tooling range can help speed up production in multiple industry sectors.
Outstanding Industry Achievement Award for Phil Hawtin
Phil Hawtin has been awarded the Outstanding Industry Achievement Award at the Torque Awards.
Owlett-Jaton’s Key Accounts Commercial Manager, Phil Hawtin, is retiring after over 40 years in the fastener and fixings industry.
Phil has worked at Owlett-Jaton for over 17 years and has been instrumental in the development of key business areas, including building a relationship with the buying group Troy THS.
Phil became Key Accounts Commercial Manager in early 2020. He works closely with Owlett-Jaton’s large and more complex customers to ensure a bespoke service is offered to meet their needs. During this time, he has helped to develop these accounts to increase sales and stocked product ranges.
Before his current role, Phil was a key part of the STF and Icon operations in Bilston, acting as Business Development Manager for both. Phil joined STF in February 2007 as an Area Sales Manager and introduced many customers, product brands, employees, and opportunities.
The experience, understanding, and knowledge of the fastener and fixings industry that Phil has is extensive. Phil is a leading figure in the team, and this significant milestone reflects his commitment and dedication to the company. He will be a great loss to Owlett-Jaton.
We wish him a happy and well-deserved retirement.
