Having been established for over forty years and renowned on service, this construction supplier specialist was recently acquired, and the advantages of becoming a one-stop specialist were quickly identified. Their product offering has been expanded to reflect their customer’s needs, including fasteners and fixings, abrasives, adhesives, silicones, sealants, hand and power tools, PPE, clothing, and more.

They embarked on a new project to create a purpose-built trade counter. They invested heavily and developed the new hub based in the North West, which now enables them to present their product range in a modern retail style for their customers.

The new Managing Director was aware of Owlett-Jaton’s reputation for supplying high-quality products, backed by their recent investment and expansion in a new Quality Assurance laboratory at Head Office. He comments: “Owlett-Jaton products are not only supported by strong Quality Assurance, sourced from reputable and approved manufacturers, but running parallel to this is their extensive range of Certified and regulated products, too; take their range of ETA approved products, as a prime example. In our line of industry, quality is imperative - first time, every time. In my experience, ‘cheap’ fasteners and fixings are almost inevitably a false economy”.

Julian Jennings, Owlett-Jaton’s Area Sales Manager for this region, worked in conjunction with the Managing Director and his team. They established what products to display which would work best for their customer base from the vast range available from Owlett-Jaton. It is a 12 metre run of leading brands including Unifix trade and retail bagged products, JCP Fixings, and the new JRP rivets. Owlett-Jaton representatives were responsible for converting the original layout to the new design, which is all part of the stock-cleansing service; it simply removes the hassle from the equation for customers.

The difference between ‘before’ and ‘after’ is plain to see; customers can quickly and easily find what they need, and the response from them is very promising; they are so impressed with the result, that they are aiming to roll out the same model into other branches across the UK.
