3rd June 2022 – A Major Milestone
As the UK celebrates the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee on 3rd June 2022, Owlett-Jaton is celebrating its 75th birthday.
The 3rd June 2022 marks 75 years from the founding of W.M Owlett & Sons Limited on 3rd June 1947, the original company that has grown over the past seven and a half decades to be the company of today.
W.M Owlett & Sons Limited was incorporated as a supplier to builders’ merchants. Jaton was set up as a subsidiary of James and Tatton in 1969 as a supplier to engineers’ merchants. Both had several stockholding branches across the UK, including branches in Nailsea, Swindon, Leighton Buzzard, Elland and Warrington.
In 1997, Owlett was acquired and became a trading division of Decco Group. Jaton followed in 1998. In 2002, the two merged to become Owlett-Jaton.
Owlett-Jaton offers a complete wholesale solution to the distributor and merchant trade in the UK and Ireland – supplying an extensive and in-depth range of products that can be delivered to customers the next day. We are the name behind some of the UK’s leading fastener and fixing brands, including JCP, JRP, Thunderbolt, Unifix, and Vortex., We strive to remain at the forefront of changing market demands.
All stock is now held at our 130,000 square foot headquarters in Stone, Staffordshire – which the Jaton side of the business moved into back in 1995.
